Retailers really should push Apple to get rid of the undesirable configurations. Nobody is going to buy a new premium laptop with a 256gb SSD or 8GB of RAM.

Wow this is actually a very good deal as I bought one a few months back and have no regrets but praise for the unit. It runs cool to the touch, the screen is beauriful, and the battery life is excellent!

The problem is people trust Apple telling them 8GB is plenty for their consumer use. When in reality, it’s not. The RAM is a far bigger problem than the SSD size. At least can connect an external SSD and be fine. Stuck with a non functioning MacBook when 8GB of RAM is no longer supported - maybe three years. It’s way too late for this whole thing.
